Ultrasound is another radiation free way of visualizing disease.
In most hospitals the ultrasound scan is performed by a technologist.
The scan is then read later by a Radiologist. The problem with this protocol is that you as the patient have no idea what the scan is showing, until it is reported. If you ask the technician doing the scan, they will be reluctant to communicate any finding with you for fear of giving you misleading information.
This is particularly frustrating and very patient unfriendly.
We have an onsite Radiology Ultrasound expert who can give you realtime results of your image as he performs the scan.
Patient orientated Ultrasound scans.
